BEDFORD PARK | THE MOST ACTIVE NEIGHBORHOOD

In May, the Bronx commercial real estate market recorded a total dollar volume of $357,074,700 across 48 sales and 56 properties, representing a 134.73% month-over-month increase from April. Multifamily was again the most active asset class, with 41 transactions at an average of $250 per square foot.

What contributed to the skyrocketing jump in transaction volume was Longacre Asset Management’s $195 million acquisition of a 34-building rent-regulated multifamily portfolio across Bronx neighborhoods from Related Companies. The acquisition underscores investor appetite for stabilized, rent-regulated housing in strong-performing Bronx neighborhoods.

Bedford Park was the most active neighborhood in May with 7 transactions.
